The Winterhaven Hotel is a 3 Star hotel. Designed in 1937 by Albert Anis and opened in 1939; the Winterhaven Hotel is located directly in front of the beach. Was regarded as lively - friendly upscale - a place to be. The hotels complete renovation completed in January 2000 has restored it to maintain the Art Deco magnificence and historical architectural significence. It has been able to capture the same lively; upscale feel of years ago. The elevated grand patio commands a striking view of the beach and Ocean Drive activities at the quiet corner of 14th Street and Ocean Drive. Art deco preservationists hail the restored two story lobby its golden etched mirrors and unique terrazzo floors. Likewise; the lobbys original winding staircase with glass ball railings; and its stylish multi-level mezzanine overlooking the lobby are restored to reflect an era gone by. Today a tasteful cafe and quiet bar complete the lobbys interior activities. Most of the Winterhavens 71 guestrooms enjoy oceanviews and include two rooftop garden terrace rooms offering privacy and wraparound views. Each of its suites formed from twelve uniquely designed oceanfront rooms directly overlook the sandy beach and Atlantic. New baths and Art Deco style furnishings combined with oversized bedroom windows contribute to the airy ocean feel in each. This property was built in 1938 and completed its total renovations in January; 2000.
